Georges Bouchard

Georges Bouchard is currently GDF SUEZ’ representative in International Gas Union, Eurogas and French Gas Association as in the French Committee of the World Energy Council.

Born in 1952, he started his career in 1977 as civil servant in the Energy Department of the Ministry of Industry, in a regional division then in the national electricity /  gas division.

He joined EDF in 1986 as manager of power plants, mainly  the nuclear plant of Gravelines (6 units of 900 MW).

He joined Gaz de France in 1993. Among others, he was successively in charge of Research, Strategy, Public Affairs and Internal Audit and Risk Management Divisions.

He was appointed by the European Commission as representative of the gas industry in the European Energy and Transport Forum.

He chaired the French Gas Association from 2005 to 2007.
