Head of the European Gas Industry Department, Benoît Esnault is responsible for CRE participation to European works and negotiations on gas, and co-chairs the LNG task force of European Energy Regulators. Before joining CRE in May 2008, he spent 5 years as senior economist at the Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (OME) where he notably worked on gas geopolitics and international strategies. Benoît Esnault holds a PhD in economics and developed postdoc researches on gas and electricity liberalisation at the University of Paris Dauphine.
